Giancarlo DE SISTI and Ugo FERRANTE formed part of the Azzurri Squad that finished Runner-up in the 1970 World Cup, Roberto BAGGIO in that of 1990 when the Azzurri finished third and Giancarlo ANTOGNONI in the 1978 Squad that finished fourth. Two Fiorentina players won the European Nations Championship of 1968: Enrico ALBERTOSI and Giancarlo DE SISTI. Angelo DI LIVIO and Francesco TOLDO formed part of the Azzurri Squad that finished Runner-up European Champions in 2000, whilst Giancarlo ANTOGNONI and Giovanni GALLI formed part of the 1980 squad that finished fourth. Alfonso NEGRO and Achille PICCINI won the Gold Medal when the Italian National Team finished first in the Football Tournament of the 1936 Olympic Games.
